The Head and the Heart - “Coeur D’Alene”
Kinda country with a driving piano backbeat. Perhaps my favorite song on this very solid album. The lyrics are rather lovely and very fitting to its folk/country roots.
I love the alliteration in:
Wearily waitin’ on the wastin’ of his days,
A sad son’s smoldering soul.
Practically sounds like something that could’ve been written by Ezra Pound. Though he probably would have added in those missing Gs.
